Home Run
Derby X

Event / Stage design / Live show

PROBLEM
Major League Baseball needed a campaign to launch its innovative new game format, Home Run Derby X.
This format was created to attract new fans to a sport with an aging spectatorship.

SOLUTION
Create a campaign that really speaks to this new audience and draws on the cultures they are already involved in.

EXECUTION

We teamed up with talent and creators and created a campaign that united music and youth culture ‘Bring the Noise’ – a bold and brash communication that pulled inspiration from music videos and festival promos.

We kicked off the campaign with a high-impact launch film that introduced the world to Home Run Derby X. Shot in the style of a music video, and fusing baseball with music, fashion and youth culture, Home Run Derby X was introduced to the world. We worked with vivid music video director Taz Tron Delix and his group of young creative talent. The film’s reach was smashed out of the park through MLB, talent and partner channels.

We also created a selection of other films with influencers who would take part in the event, training and explaining the new game.

MLB – HRDX 2.0

The event ran for a second year, with MLB coming back to us to create their second launch film (at a slightly lower budget) – we created a film that utilised photography and footage from the previous event and digital models of ‘The Cage’ – a new home run event that would take place in Traflagar Square that year.
